Am I the only one who gets annoyed when they call the Golf the "best selling car ever, worldwide, with 23 million sold"? Sure, it's remained a hatchback of roughly the same layout, but aren't they on the fifth design iteration now? Does it REALLY count as the same car just because the name is the same? I personally consider the Beetle the best seller at 21 million, as those 21M cars have practically part-for-part interchangeability from first to last. How many parts from a 2005 Golf fit a 1974 Rabbit/Golf?
