My fridge definitely doesn't stay lit on propane while driving. I usually remember to switch it to 12 volt before long drives. I don't shut the propane off - probably I should take to doing that whenever I'm not using it. My fridge works well, though. I've never tried to make ice cubes, and I've never measured the temperature inside or out, but I do regularly have veggies freeze in the fridge. Occasionally I do have trouble getting it lit, though lately that seems to be because I turned out to be out of propane. How was I to know, without that handy propane gauge?
