So this weekend I changed the oil in the compressor, flushed the system(less the compressor0 with 2 gal. of mineral spirits + 1 bottle of A/C system flush from the FLAPS. I blew the system out afterwards with compressed air. I also located a new Receicver/Drier and ordered a new Expansion Valve. It will be here Tues. So I am confused as to the basic path of the flow from the compressor. Can someone help me put these in order. I am confused with the Bentley(being for 86+ and my Vanagon being 85) and the talk of mislabeled high and low pressure. 1 - Compressor Discharge side 2 - Expansion Valve 3 - Condensor 4 - Drier 5 - Evaporator 6 - Compressor Suction Side
Also I did pick up a Vacuum pump an will be looking for a Vacuum Gauge to attach to it. I want to watch the pressure after applying it to the system to check for leaks. Thanks, Michael Knight '77 Westy Deluxe, "el Verde" '85 Vanagon GL, nameless http://photos.yahoo.com/electrictrain@sbcglobal.net |
