If your getting squeaking, try putting a liberal ammount of anti sieze compound on the inner sway bar bushings. They look like blocks of rubber.Remove the bolts and remove the bushings(plurel(sp?)).Now ,put the left bushing on the right and the right bushing on the left. The wear points are now new again! This may buy you time to readup on how rebuild is done. Your gonna need it, if you plan to rebuild your front suspension. You may consider getting a parts vanagon , post 85, and taking the front suspension off that(if yours is pre 86). Rebuild this at your lesure.Rebuilding this is no more costly , but the ride it provides is much better, and someday , you can add big brakes to this steering knuckle. |
