I've not had problems with running my refrig on gas while traveling - who knows? But there is something neat that I have found that is a fine upgrade to the unit - an internal fan. I've seen lots of postings about how to add an internal 12 volt fan, running the wires outside the box somehow etc. I came across a simple mini-fan unit at a local RV store that runs on 2 D-cell batteries for a week or so. I searched the web and found that you can get this from online sources as well. You can see it at http://tinyurl.com/dywjn I just take the batteries out of mine and leave them and the fan in the refrig when not needed. It just moves enough air around to help make the cooling unit more effective. The cost listed from the source above is $14.95 which I think is a bit more than I paid locally, but it sure was a no-brainer add-on in terms of ease and effectiveness.
