I'd like to piggyback on this question please:

My '81 aircooled westie is giving plenty of hot air from the vent just behind/between the front seats (enough to melt plastic -- a bit scary) but it isn't getting to the front outlets regardless of heater control position. Where should I begin looking?

It's probably a weekend of taking the whole dash out, (dash it all) and in the last 30 minutes I've got a Bentley, but clues to what wires/levers to try first would be great.

Alan

Having looked at the diagram a question popped into my mind.

My front heater is always on... I assume then that this is because the cable that controls the valve in the diagram is either broken, bent, or weak.

Has anyone replaced this before? Digging around in the dash is a bit of a nightmare in my experience.

Thanks,

James
