Any nylon/plastic/polymer part needs to be replaced periodically if it is in contact with fuels or high VOC liquids/vapors. I pulled mine when I did the first fuel line change on my van right after I got it. I try to only use brass fittings anywhere in the fuel system. There is some discussion of this in the groups that have plastic tanks as well. jimt
