I recently installed 6 1/2" Blaupunkt speakers in the front doors of my 1983 Westphalia. The one in the right door was no problem, installed low near the bottom of the door panel. The one in the left door was harder because there is a rigid pocket/shelf as part of the door panel and that kept me from moving the speaker up so it would slide in above the metal(horizontal) door brace. I had to take a metal chisel and a hacksaw and hammer a part of the brace until the speaker could slide into place. I didn't flush mount, just the regular surface mount with the grill sticking out a bit. Didn't have any problem with the dash either. On the right side I was worried that part of the speaker structure was just touching the metal horizontal door brace and would buzz but that didn't happen.

BTW, the speakers were bought from Midwest Electronics at a great discount, free shipping, and they were very quick getting them to me.
