Last week i posted a description of my expt to improve airflow over cooling fins on back of fridge. I made a shroud to direct the flow "better". I found that my replacement fan, a muffing fan, came one and stayed on much more than the stock fan. I thought the shroud would help and provide better convection flow over fins. Well it seems to have had little effect on the duty cycle of the muffing fan. I am not giving up on the idea that the shroud helps flow, but now going to install another fan. I did have the uncomfortable thought that I have the muffin fan mounted wrong way up, but naw, I couldn't have :) I do get a good flow of air into the bottom grill below the fridge, checked with smoke.
