I understand that the 3-4 slider problem was finally fixed for the 90 model
year.Maybe you,(like me)should keep your eyes open for a 90 or 91 trans to
eventually replace the current trans.Its a plan anyway......In the mean
time synthitic oil is supposed to make the trans  work smooth all the way
up to the end.
