Isn't that for a lifter that is noisy after initial startup? I have the opposite problem - quiet at startup, but then gets noisy. But to answer your question, i did try the 0.006" thing, and then ran it for maybe 10 minutes (not that i 100% trust my lifter adjustment skills). After preloading the lifters again, i thought it fixed the noisy lifter... but sure enough, a few minutes later clickety clack. What is failing inside the lifter to lose it's prime (or whatever you want to call it), after it has been running?
