You need a 9/16" drill bit to open up the lug holes and a 60 degree countersink bit to cut new conical lug seats. I did my Benz wheels about 4 years ago on a drill press, you take off very little material when doing these mods. Both cuts are self centering, so its pretty easy to do. I used standard 14-mm conical chrome lug nuts that you can pick up at any FLAPS on my Camper, I used a 14-mm stud kit on the front rotors instead of using the lug bolts. I keep a set of stock ball seat lugnuts in the Camper for the spare steel wheel. The countersink bit should be available at any machine shop supply house, I spent about $18.00 for mine. If you would like to borrow it, give me your address and I will ship it to you. You can hang on to it and send it to the next person that needs it. Pay it forward. Fist the CLK's used 12mm bolts. Your Vanagon uses 14mm studs/bolts. That means you will need to enlarge the lugholes and recontour the lugseats. Secondly, you need longer studs in back and longer bolts up front (unless you have a big brakes kit). The CLK wheels you are looking at appear to be the cast variety. The cast wheels have a thicker mounting pad. You will need to compensate for that. Hey Ben, What kind of machining would have to be done to the seats? What kind of cutters would I need to locate? I could arrange the mill work. JC...
