Question for those who've been there, done that......My young kids like to use the Pop Top mechanism itself to hoist themselves up and into the upper bunk of my Vanagon. This never was a problem until I greased this pop up mechanism to loosen it up or some other reason I cannot remember at this moment..... Today, while camping in my back-yard, my 5 yr. old grabbed this brown vertical support (the swivel arms that hold up the Pop Top in open position and allow it to open...) and the entire Pop Top came crashing down towards him, catch his arm, etc..... I should not have greased this mechanism; now, what can I do? *Has anyone devised a method to lock (think "safety lock" on knive) their Pop Top in its upright position? Thanks for any insights......
