Some testing I did found that if you had 5.x and did an install of 6.x and then did a remove on the 5.x, you probably deleted some common files that both were using. Many like yourself report that if 5.x was uninstalled and then 6.x installed they still get crashing on startup of 6.x. In this case is suspect that there is a conflicting file left on the system or that the 5.x uninstall is actually removing a system file that is not supposed to be getting removed. I have had each of those happen to me on XP. On 2k I have not tried to double install. jimt On 6/5/05 11:00 AM, "Daryl Christensen" <aatransaxle@DIRECWAY.COM> wrote: > I tried to install it and it got rid of the 5.3 and wouldn't work at all > even after the 2 lexdll files were swapped on my XP system... > Open to suggestions from the computer savvy among you...Daryl > ----- Original Message ----- > From: "Richard A Jones" <jones@COLORADO.EDU> > To: <vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM> > Sent: Sunday, June 05, 2005 7:25 AM > Subject: ETKA 6.2 over 5.3? > > >> Has anyone installed ETKA 6.2 where they had 5.3? >> Did you uninstall 5.3 or just install 6.2 over it? >> I'm a little hesitant to just barge ahead if someone >> else has had a painful experience to share....
