I use AMSOIL in my 89 Westy and change the filter at 6 months, and the oil and filter at 12 months following initial installation. It is good to 25,000 miles per year but I don't drive it that much so I go by time. I run close to 25,000 miles per year in my 92 Jetta 1.8L but I use the AMSOIL filters which are changed at 6 months or 12,500 miles, and then change the oil and filter at 12 months or 25,000 miles. I have 121,000 on it now. My 91 Jetta ECO diesel gets the same treatment and it has 151,000 miles on it. It passed the Ohio E-Check with 0% opacity (no soot). Just starting to get broke in good! :)) TEMiller ----- Original Message ----- From: "Shawn Wright" <swright@ZUIKO.SLS.BC.CA> To: <vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM> Sent: Wednesday, June 01, 2005 8:13 PM Subject: Re: Another Synthetic Oil Question
