The clamping error is possible. About 9 months ago I put a new radiator on the daughters jeep. She called me about a week ago because of a green puddle when the engine was running. At first i find nothing wrong but on just a quick little tug on the upper rad hose it is loose in a way it shouldnąt be. When I pulled the clamp and hose to look closer I could tell from the impressions on the hose that I had not put it on correctly when I did the rad change out. Somehow I had clamped across the rib and not all on the rad side of the rib. After checking it I believe it would have been a popped hose within a few days or weeks at most. Took almost a year to start leaking though. The upper clamp is in an awkward place on the jeep. jimt
