If you live in the tropics, straight 50 is no problem. In cooler
weather, be prepared for blown oil filters, coolers, and maybe even
spinning the oil pump drive shaft in the gear or breaking the drive tab.

On sale for $1.99 qt. @ Checker.
I'd be curious to know, if a straight weight is better in our VW engines
