To be honest I've had good luck at my dealer with bulbs. I've bought instrument cluster bulbs for about $1.50 and bulbs for the dash heater panel for a little less I think. Haven't had to replace the shifter light yet. Bulbs are the only reasonably priced thing that they sell as far as I can tell. When the prices of maintaining my Vanagon get me down, I just think about how much worse it would be if I still had my Volvo.
