Street Atlas 2005 program mapping is not as detailed as the single state Atlas & Gazetteers Delorme offers. However, it does have many roads not shown on other conventional paper maps. I usually use both the Gazetteer & Street Atlas when planning a trip, and refer back to notes I made on the paper maps from previous trips, and sometimes it's just easier to flip pages than work on the laptop. I've owned every laptop GPS antenna/software combo Delorme has made since their first and giant honkin' yellow one thru the current ones. They have vastly improved both the maps detail & the antenna's acquisition/operation. I could not imagine now going on a trip without it. In fact last flight I took, I held the GPS antenna up to the aircrafts window and it started tracking the route, altitude and actual speed almost immediately. I then I quickly stowed it as post 911 flight crews would most likely not find my GPS experimenting amusing. Delorme also offers dedicated topo programs (Topo USA & 3D Topo Quads) that work with the GPS if you really want to go back county, but these are less useful when traveling on normal roads than Street Atlas. Lastly, despite being a long time Delorme advocate & user, my registered user discount is not as good as the deals that you can get on EBay, so do your price research before ordering.
