From working in a shop, almost every power mirror failure was the wiring breaking. The most common break was actually just inside the vanagon and not at the door itself. Out of about a dozen jobs on mirrors I never replaced a mirror or motor. Only one switch. all had broken wires. Even though one had a bad switch it also had a broken wire. jimt
