If the tank is on a vehicle built after jan 84 the autostop valve was required by code. The places doing repairs are supposedly not permitted to retrofit to the older style but may replace the older style if on an older tank.

However I have seen quite a few westies and other campers with the older style valves on them and know of places that have done the switches. jimt
