We made it OK to our family summer home in Harbor Springs, MI.

About 2,500 Kms & no van troubles at all !! Took the ferry from Digby NS to St John NB, then across Maine & northern New Hampshire (Dixville Notch) & Vermont the very northern NY where we crossed back into CDA at Cornwall, Ont (see my coming post on 3 Westies for sale). Then we Dipsy-Doodled through Ontario up to Algonquin Prov Park (lunch at the wonderful Killarney Lodge), and on up to Sudbury and then Sault Saint Marie and down into Michigan to Harbor Springs. 4 nights on the road (3 = provincial/state parks, 1 commercial site).

We drove mainly on 2 lane roads, and took in the scenery. Saw only 2 vanagons & 1 bus.

2,473 Kms (1,537 miles) on 278 litres (73.4 gal) of fuel = 11.23 L/100km (20.9 MPG). Not bad for a carb'ed 91 syncro westy!! But, we drove only about 90 kph (55 mph-ish) most of the time, but on 2 lane roads through every town between here and there.

We are here for a few days and then on west for leg 2. Talk to you then. Maloolm & Pat
