I had the name wrong - and no wonder no one knows about it:

http://www.vintagemotorwerks.com/

I visited it today and it was like a museum - a neat shop with a car tucked into every corner and the middle in different configurations. One bug was just a shell, two waterboxer engines were beging rebuilt, several bugs and vans were waiting outside. He rebuilds the engines there and gives a 12 month warrenty. Can upgrade to a larger engine...for what it was worth, it was a fun trip!

Someone asked about the GoWesty engine - I guess they'll send you one with a warrenty.
