If the sparkplugs are in, you are feeling the compression stroke.

Hello list, As some of you know, Im in the process of rebuilding my 2.0 aircooled engine. The case innards and case went together nicely, as did the flywheel and endplay. The next task on the list was the oil pump. I lined the slot in the cam up with the tang on the pump, and gently tapped the pump into place...it seemed to go in fine. Now when I rotate the engine, I get a slight resistance around top dead center, and at 180 degrees out...what gives? Any thoughts would be appreciated. Is this normal? -Erin
