OK, I will bite. I don't have 10 because I have many more places I want to visit than I have visited: NOT in order of most to least favorite. Just a list of good places to visit in NA. 1-Big Bend National Park, Texas 2-Moab, Utah and the surrounding national parks, especially Arches and Bryce Canyon 3-The "Four Corners" area of the SW, including Canyon de Chelly. I plan to return to visit areas in Colorado and New Mexico. 4.The Northern Cascades in Washington State. 5- This is more an area than a specific spot. I love to wander the backroads of "Wild, Wonderful West Virginia." I quote the state's signing and the description is apt. I am eager to return 6-Similarly, I like to wander SW West Virginia. Many interesting small towns and friendly people. 7- My home state. Visit SW Wisconsin with its rolling hills and river valleys: the River Road and the many river towns. The city of Madison is a must-see. Next, visit the far northern area in and near the Chewaumegon National Forest. Take the ferry from Bayfield to Madeline Island. I didn't mention California because I believe people might begin to realize there's lots to see in our "fly-over" land. Even the Great Prairie land, south from Canada to Texas, used to attract visitors from Europe until the next fad took people elsewhere. That's my list. More next year. ENU and I will continue to wander. Dan R. |
