It is a real problem that does have a solution. Adrian ------------------- Clip ----------------------- The solution most likely doesn't say Volkswagen on it. I think most people realize that I like to give Vanagon owners a little jab once in a while but in reality I still drive an 86 Olds Custom Cruiser wagon on 300-500 mile trips and never do anything but change the oil with 10/30 Pennzoil. I don't need special oil filters with anti reverse squirt preventers, flux capacitors, syndrome patches or 50 weight oil just to have oil pressure at red lights. My tent fits nicely into the ample space provided begin the rear seat and I can tie a spare cow or about three bicycles to the roof rack without causing problems with loss of power when I go up a hill or hit a headwind. True! It's only worth about $600.00 after all these years but I know when the engine or transmission goes it's going to be sold by the pound to the Auto Wreckers ................... That's exactly what should happen to Vanagons past their prime. Ant lets face it, it's the only way they'll ever get to VW heaven and be recycled into one of those really Keene Japanese Pickup Trucks with 98% plastic body construction.
