Just poke away, but only do your poking perpendicular to the face of the
clock.  Should you press the stylus you are using at an angle, the set buttons can
become dislodged from their intended positions and hang up under the clock
face only to constantly cycle through the display numerals.  Even then, the
buttons can be brought back into their proper positions, but it is not easy to do.
