Usual causes of a warm engine flooding are a bad temp 2 sensor, leaking injectors, a leaking diaphragm in the fuel pressure regulator, or a bad ECU.

After everything else, now this.... My battery/alternator seem to be okay, but now I'm having persisting difficulties starting the van (currently stuck at a gas station between pittsburgh and harrisburgh). It seems possible that the engine is simply flooding every time I turn it off---I say this only because the problem seems to occur more often when the car has been only recently shut off. Then again, waiting 15-20 minutes doesn't always help (which is why I hiked to this internet terminal...). Also, although it might be my imagination, my idle rate seems distinctly faster than I remember.

Anybody have any ideas of what I could try to get it going? Is there some faster way to start a flooded engine other than waiting (and perhaps more effective?) Pushing the pedal all the way hasn't been fruitfull, unfortunately.

Thanks very much for any help!

If anyone wants to increase their chances of reaching me with their advice, they might try my cell phone instead of email: 412 708 3772. Or personal email, which I can sometimes check from the road (or on the side of it) on my cell phone (but not list email). Thanks very much for any help....

-Wes
