Why guess or rely on anecdotes? The Bentley gives a spec for this. Same spec as any other Bosch alternator of the same type and vintage, afaik.

Run engine at 3000 rpm with no electrical load until measured voltage is stable. Voltage at the alternator should be between 13.5 and 14.5 volts
