The Subaru conversion into an Air Cooled can be done.
It requires lots of parts from a donor WBXer for the radiator, coolant
lines, front and rear heater cores, wireloom for heater blower system, fresh
air distributor with heater box and lots of water/coolant related parts in
the engine bay.
I think it's better to use a WBXer to make the Subaru conversion simply
because a dead WBXer and a dead Air Cooled are about the same price if you
go looking for one.
