"Ice Guard" is a flexible sticky-back insulating roofing material with foil on one side. Several folks have suggested using it as an inexpensive sound-damping material. Good for inside door panels and such. The stuff is primarily designed for cold climates with high snow and ice accumulations. That would not be here where temperatures seldom drop below 45F, and snow is only the stuff of movies and Christmas cards. Which is why none of the roofing supply houses carry it. My minimum order from them would be a roll that would cover 100 square feet. Their minimum order would be a truckload, just to get that one roll. They are not enthusiastic. If anyone online has e-z access to this stuff, and would not mind shipping some to me, I would be happy to pay for it. I reckon that I would not use more than 20 square feet. -- Mike "Rocket J Squirrel" Elliott 71 Type 2: the Wonderbus 84 Westfalia: Mellow Yellow ("The Electrical Banana") Carlsbad, CA KG6RCR |
