If there was violent jerking after some serious bumps, it is likely that you have a loose or bad connection somewhere in the FI or ignition systems that is breaking contact on the bumps. Check all of them but one that is often overlooked is the connection on the side of the distributor coming from the Hall Sensor. Remote grounds like the one on the tranny, or from the negative terminal of the battery can be the cause of these symptoms.
