Can't speak for Paul. For me, having the window rolled up is a matter of protecting what little hearing I have left. With the window down, my sound pressure meter can clock as high as 95dB on the freeway, what with Harleys announcing their presence, the ubitquitous F350 diesels pickups that the pickup pops like the drive, wind noise, and semi's. Hearing damage starts at 85dB. I start getting annoyed at 75dB. So whenever I can I roll up the winders. Then sit behind the wheel on my 84 wondering how to get a light breeze on my extraordinarily attractive face.

Thus the dash-mounted fan. Looks corny but works swell.
