The question of the decade for me.... define BioDiesel! There are so many different definitions of this, it's crazy.

Unprocessed: B100 100% Veggie Oil B20 20% Veggie / 80% petroleum Diesel

Processed: B100 with methanol / ethanol (insert any other chemical process here) that breaks down the oil to make it less thick.

Unprocessed oil requires heating to at least 60 to 65C before it is thin enough to go through the injector pump. Energy input into making the fuel in minimal, waste from burring the fuel in minimal and it is a very safe.

Processed oil is basically the same as summer Diesel, it doesn't need to be heated unless it it below the freezing of water. Additional energy input is required, there is some dangerous chemicals involved and there is a waste product that comes from it.

I prefer the unprocessed approach as in the long run, it is simpler and easier on the environment. Just need to install some heating equipment on your vehicle and it's not hard to do that.

I'm hearing lots of talk about biodiesel and seeing cheap prices on it when I can find it.

Since a diesel is designed to handle some range of fuels are there any adjustments necessary to burn this stuff?
