Subject: Rear hatch lock
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1

Hi All,

I have a 1991 syncro camper with power doors lock

A couple of weeks ago, I've posted an email to the group about my defective rear hatch lock. It was replaced by the previous owner and now I'm stuck with two keys instaed of one. I was under the impression that the electric wasn't working either. Turn out the motor is working but it's not connected in any way to the lock itself.

My questions are :

1) Is the rear hatch lock different than those on syncro or vanagon without the electric door lock?

2) If so, how can I determine if the lock was replace with the correct replacement part?

3) If it is the correct lock, how can I connect it to the motor just beside?

I was preparing to remove the lock and have it reconfigure by a local locksmith but I won't do it if it need to be replaced.

4) If I have to replace it where can i find this rear hatch lock?

Any help is much appreciated.

JP Syncro 1991
