Thanks everyone, the 85 is now working very well. Alistee with the initials

Thanks everyone, the 85 is now working very well. A listee, with the initials,S.W. was very close to the correct problem It was one of the little wires going to the distributor. Actually the red wire. It was completely severed. Each end was about 1/2 inch apart when I found them! It ran like this for a long time.Dont know why or how. Equally amazing is that no electronics were damaged. I now get a smooth idle, idle now returns to normal immediately ,at a stop light, and NO BUCKING. I am so happy, I splurged and put in a can of injector cleaner for good luck. When I replaced the coil, I started to get about 2mpg better. Now,with everything working right, I expect ot get 30--35mpg, like the rest of you !
