I am running the Michelin Agilis tires on my '88 GL, and they are fine. Remember that the tire spec for the Vanagons is either "Reinforced" or "6-Ply rated". The Agilis meet the 6-Ply requirement (mine are 8-Ply rated - 8PR is stamped on the sidewalls). I don't know about the MXT's, you would have to check the maximum weight they are rated for to see if they are OK for the Vanagon... -- Don in Reidsville, NC 1986 Kawasaki Concours 1988 Vanagon GL (Sylvia) "Why do they call it a fixed income, if mine is always broke?" |
