Yep,
I purposely leave the lane back to my cabin a little
wild to block the vision of lookie-loos who travel our
creekside dead end road for "rides in the country".
Over the years I have added a few laugh lines to the
sides of my vans because of the brush on the sides of
the lane. A lot of the time the lines will rub out but
I have learned to really add the polish/wax to prevent
a majority of the scratches from getting deeper into
the paint.
I try to limit the immediate lane side brush to
sycamores, dogwoods, redbuds, honey suckle, high bush
cranberries and other "softer" growth, eliminating the
honey locust, primrose and other thorn bearers because
of the obvious risk to limb and vehicle.
Prior to putting in the lane a few years ago, I drove
my 2WD Vanagons all over the fields of our property
and have used logging trails there and also in park
lands with no real problems. The ground clearance is
good for most places as long as it's dry.
