That's the way the ECU quit on my '84 during a trip a few years ago. Luckily I had a spare with me. I had tried a number of things before putting the other ECU in and my symptoms were much the same as yours. With the spare ECU ... it started right up and we finished our travels. After I got home I put the old ECU in and again, No Start. I put the spare back in and it ran like a charm. I bought another ECU via EBAY (it came and wouldn't work ... not in the '84 nor the '85 ... the seller replaced it with one that does) and it's now my "spare". Mike Houlton, Maine
