All I know about them from talking with the one owner. This was back when I
first got my westy. Purchased from German Motor Car. The van was in for
maintenance at the time. I saw the second one in a parking lot at king
soopers. Donıt remember what color they were but they were not burgundy.
Both vans had the tynan VW sticker on them. The one guy knew his had been
bought at tynans but never talked to the other owner.
Back when I first ran into them I queried the list about them and got
answers from the australian and new zealanders being familiar with them but
no one else. Found it very curious.
When checking the ETKA and just did it again, the windows were available
from 1985 onward and green tinted, and sliders were optional mcode items
except on westy.
Both vans were totally spartan inside.
However one big note. I just noted the ³carrier² badge on the one on the
samba. And am now checking the euro ETKA to see if I find that badge.
Did not find the badge but found the van description of the vans I saw and
it is a 253A (commercial van) but the one in the samba appears to be 2555.
Both are left hand drive commercial vehicles. The 2555 had a rear folding
seat.
