I think that Regan Era Brown is the worst color for a car. In my experience, it seems that a true brown color sucks up heat faster than liquid sodium. But . . . is it really worth it to do a fine paint job on the van in the first place? If the van were truly PRISTINE, perhaps. Then again, if it were truly pristine, it wouldn't need a paint job. I have a Syncro with absolutely NO seam rust nor body damage. It has it's share of door dings and paint chips, but it is in fine condition otherwise. If, and that's a big IF, I ever decide to have it cleaned up, I'll tell my body guy to fettle it with the least amount of paintwork he can get away with.

Waiting for a Vanagon to become collectable may be like waiting for Godot.

George
