Have someone keep the brake fluid reservoir full while you bleed the system. Use a clear soft drink bottle and a piece of clear tubing. Connect the tubeing to the bleed nipple on the brake and put the other end into the bottle. Open the bleed nipple and have your helper pump the brakes. Keep pumpin until the strean through the clear tube has no bubbles. Close the nipple. Do each wheel, one at a time. This procedure costs nothing.

If you don't mind specing a little money, the pressure bleeding devices can be built for a few dollars, or bought for a few dollars more.

On my Vanagon, I can bleed the front brakes without getting under the vehicle. But not so the back. I've got short arms and round belly so I lift it a bit to get down and under. But even so, bleeding the brakes is fairly simple.

John Rodgers 88 GL Driver
