Michelin Agilis is a great tire for your Vanagon. It meets all of the load requirements and is designed for commercial van usage. I have two sets of them. Look on the sticker in your driver's door jamb. Depending on the year and precise model of your Vanagon, you will see different tire specifications. I'm not going to claim to be a tire expert, but I believe you are getting confused over different terminology used to describe tires in different markets. My 1982 Westfalia sticker lists

185R14C 6PR 185SR14 reinforced

6PR is six ply rated, a reference to older, bias-ply tire designs that existed before load ranges were adopted. Your tire should be a load range C or 6PR. They mean the same thing.

Reinforced, on the second item, does away with the bias-ply compatibility notation and implies that the sidewalls are reinforced, in comparison to standard Euro-metric car tires.

The Agilis is load range C or D truck tire. It does not require reinforcement as a passenger car tire would.
