And the rear hatch VW emblem is centered. Wasn't the US '88 still the small one on the left side? Also, the rear seat is the non-folding kind, the bumpers are the metal kind, and it has a non-padded dash. With the '86 the last year of the "L" model and the "standard base model" not coming back until '90, I'd say this Vanagon came here "the hard way"...
