Good Day Vganites,

Noting the thread between Robert and Larry, one of the principal uses we have for our Syncro Westfalia is getting to our primitive cabin in 11-mile canyon. It's just under a mile, up a Jeep trail, stepping over some pretty serious rocks and squeaking between the bushes. The first few times we made the trip, the Vanagon looked like it was really scratched up from the bushes. When I washed it, the scratches went away. We finally figured out that the scrub-oak bushes were leaving traces of sap where we touched them, then dust would stick to the sap and look like we had done some significant damage.

We keep a good coat of wax on it at all times, and the scratches are never visible after we wash it when we get home. Where we go: http://www.qadas.com/~kanas/Abodes/Sleeping_Tom.html
