Volks, My friend Rob stated ""ignorance has taken me to some truly amazing places." IMHO ... the value of ignorance is highly underrated. Knowing what I know now, I'd probably never start out on a 2 yr 60k driveabout, let alone stumble upon incredible remote places that I had no business finding alone. Any then I would be without the memories of a truly incredible adventure and wouldn't know most of you blissfully adventurous "ignorant people" :) Thank Goodness that's not the case. larry chase roadhaus.com - - - Rob Campbell Sent: Monday, June 27, 2005 2:02 PM To: vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM Subject: Re: General/Sorta dirt-road worthiness of 2WD Vanagons? The one time I got a little nervous was a road Larry Chase told me about near Big Sur. It was largely composed of rock and mud towards the top, and I was getting tired and it was getting dark. I would have turned around, but the road was too narrow to even do that. So I slowly and carefully pushed on, and made it to one of the best camping spots I've seen.
