Hi Doug,

The problem with using a GPS as a speedometer is the lag... My Magellan GPS2000 is very accurate for speed ( +/- 0.1 KMH) but it has about a 5-second lag in reporting that speed. Which means that I can sometimes pull up to a stoplight and look over at it telling me I'm still going 30MPH.

Once up to a steady speed it works pretty well. I once had an 88 Eagle Premier where my GPS WAS the speedo.
