This would truly be a labor of love.. a useful one for the community definitely, but hard to pull off.

Also a moving target.. stuff is being added nearly every day, although the same primary subjects come up.

As a test, I used the email interface to the listserv to grab some of the archives and take a look.. Lots of data and stuff to go through.. uuugh automation using the powers of UNIX text processing with a text based email client (like gnus or vm in emacs for instance) could help, but still a bunch of work either way you slice it!

Mind you, the email interface to the listserv is not exactly intuitive either, took me a bit to figure it out as well.

I've got about 90 emails sitting in my gmail account that comprise the weekly archives from dec 03 to about a month ago.

It was more of an experiment to see if I could access some of the raw data than anything.. Tis doable, but not something that can be done quickly and or just tossed together without really thinking about it.

Like someone else said.. probably the best thing that could be done is taking the really well written articles and coming up with posts to the BTDT site, although again, there are legal issues with this due to the copyright notices on the gerry.vanagon.com website.

It's actually amazing that this resource is out there for us all to use in it's current form.

A testament to the vanagon community in general I'd say! a bunch of good, friendly and helpful folks for sure!
