No! A/C condensers can be laid flat like in Bay Window bus installations. One end does need to be slightly higher by 1/4" just to get all the oil collected in one area. Evaporators can be laid down, turned upside down as long at the suction valve is at the highest point. Okay, I have not completely given up yet. The recent heat here in the SF bay inland area has be still reaching for uncharted waters. Question about AC evaporators and condensers. If they are installed vertically as in the vanagon. Is is imperative that they have to be completely vertical? For example could you lean the condenser back on a 45 degree angle. Same question for the evaporator unit, can it also be leaned back on angle. Okay one more, what exactly is the capacitor for the compressor doing? Thanks. Doug |
