The big problem with these government auctions is that once you've bought it, you have to remove it. I once saw a beautiful Cincinnati universal mill which looked like it had never been used, complete with tooling (and tooling can easily end up costing as much as a machine), go for less than 2 yards. To give a sense of scale to the thing, it had a 10 HP main motor. At the same auction, I saw a 5' X 10' granite surface plate which was all of a foot thick go for less than 5 bills. If I could have hauled that thing, I would have now been sipping my evening cocktail from a patio lounge chair parked on it. Yeah, the bargains are there, but you gotta think BIG and MANY.
